the first mistake your friend made was turning around to help. I drive 70 miles each way to work, 5 days a week, in Florida, through Orlando, and on I-4. I've seen many accidents happen and unless it's someone I know... oh well. I made the mistake ONE time to get involved and help someone. That was the last time, unless I know you. It cost me days off work, court time, endless reports, affidavits, and testimonies. I barely got a thankyou from the a-hole that I helped. I've seen pedestrians get nailed. I've seen wicked t-bones at intersections. I've seen a car flip over in front of me at night on I-4 and skid about a hundred yards at 80 mph on the roof. I saw a jeep miss a curve at 70 mph in a 45 mph zone and go off road throwing the driver out only to have the out of control jeep run him over. (that was the one I helped out). I saw a car go under a semi trailer. I saw a semi turn right and drive the trailer over the front end of a Miata. There's more I could recall but now I don't care how bad it is, I simply change lanes and drive on. Unfortunately, that's the way it is and what the legal system forces people to do in todays world.
